User instructions
The AS-i valve terminal type 12 is designed exclusively for con-
trolling pneumatic actuators and may only be used in bus sys-
tems as agreed in the AS-i specifications. The specified limit
values for pressures, temperatures, electrical data, torques etc.
must be observed.
AS-i bus systems and AS-i valve terminals may only be
installed by specially qualified personnel. Detailed specifications
on the concept and addressing of the AS-i bus system can be
found in the manual for the AS-i master.
Detailed information on the pneumatic components of the valve
terminal can be found in the pneumatics manual P.BE-CPA-....
WARNING
• Use only power units which guarantee reliable electrical
isolation of the operating voltages with at least 4 kV iso-
lation resistance in accordance with IEC 742/EN 60742 .
Switch power packs are permitted, providing they
guarantee reliable electrical isolation as per EN 60950.
• Switch off the power supply before connecting or dis-
connecting plugs (otherwise functioning may be impaired).
• Connect the functional earth connection
AS-i valve terminal with low impedance (short cable with
big cross section) to the functional earth/ground potential.
PLEASE NOTE
Commission only a valve terminal which is completely fitted
and wired.
