GENERAL APPLICATION NOTES
This product is part of personal protective equipment
(PPE) for protection against falls from height and should
be assigned to a person. These instructions contain vital
information. The instructions must have been under-
stood by the user before actual use. The reseller must
provide this document in the language spoken in the
country of use and it must be kept together with the
equipment during the entire service life. The following
instructions for use are important and help ensuring
proper practical application. However, they cannot re-
place experience, responsible action and knowledge re-
quired for mountaineering, climbing, and working at
height; and they certainly cannot free users from assess-
ing their personal risk. The product must be used exclu-
sively by trained, experienced persons or by instructed
persons who are being supervised. The user should be
aware that deficient bodily or mental health may impair
safety of normal application and in emergency situa-
tions. Choice of suitable equipment requires experience
and shall be made based on a hazard analysis. Attention:
If these instructions for use are not carefully observed,
the life of persons may be at risk!

GENERAL SAFETY NOTES

Mountaineering, climbing and working at heights often
entail hidden dangers and risks caused by external influ-
ences. Errors and carelessness may cause severe acci-
dents, injuries, and even death. If this product is com-
bined with other components, these may mutually affect
safety. Use only CE marked components as personal
protective equipment (PPE) for protection against falling
from height. If original components of the product are
modified or removed, the safety properties may be influ-
enced adversely. The equipment should not be altered,
modified or adjusted by use of additional parts in any
way not specifically recommended by the manufacturer
in writing. Before and after use, check the product for
possible damages. Ensure correct function and suitabili-
ty for use. If in doubt concerning the safety condition of
the product, remove it from use immediately. In case of
abuse and/or improper use, the manufacturer refuses
any liability. In such cases, the responsibility and risk lie

with the users or persons responsible for the operation.
When using this product, we recommend additionally
observing the applicable national rules. Personal protec-
tive equipment is exclusively designed for securing of
persons.
PRODUCT-SPECIFIC INFORMATION, FIGURE CAP TI-
ONS
The lanyard should not be fastened, shortened or ex-
tended by means of knots. Using a choke hitch may also
reduce the static strength of the lanyard. The lanyard
must be fastened to a reliable attachment point only, to
a fall arrest harness or other components of the fall ar-
rest system. The lanyard should not be used as a fall ar-
rest system without a shock absorber in to EN 355; the
dynamic forces acting on the user must be reduced to
max. 6 kN. If equipped with a shock absorber, the total
length (including terminations and connectors) shall not
exceed 2 m. The attachment point and the anchoring
must be capable of withstanding the loads occurring in
the worst conceivable case. Even when energy absorb-
ers (to EN 355) are used as required by EN 363 (fall ar-
rest systems), the attachment points must be designed
to bear arrest forces of min. 12 kN; also see EN 795 Type
B. Two individual lanyards with an energy absorber each
should not be used side by side (arranged parallel to an-
other). The free end of a double-stranded lanyard used in
combination with an energy absorber should not be fas-
tened to the harness. Length adjustments shall be made
in a safe location, where there is no fall hazard. The lan-
yard connecting the attachment point to the secured
person must be kept as tightly tensioned as possible.
Avoid sagging of ropes!
Spots causing such damage may have to be covered with
suitable auxiliary materials. Sharp edges, moisture and
icing especially may substantially impair the loading
strength of textile products! If the hazard assessment
performed prior to the work shows that a fall load might
occur across an edge, be sure to arrange for suitable
precautions/rescue operations and include these in
training: - check whether fall across the edge may be
prevented somehow - install an edge protector. In any
case, before and during use, plan for rescue procedures
