IMPORTANT INFORMATION
1.1 Intended purpose
The VORTEX Tracheo is a holding chamber. It is used in con-
junction with medication sprays, the so called metered dose in-
halers for treatment of the lower airways.
The VORTEX Tracheo is equipped with a VORTEX tracheo-
stomy adapter, with which treatment can be provided for
tracheotomised patients in all age groups. The VORTEX
tracheostomy adapter is designed only for use with a tracheo-
stomy tube with a 15-mm-connector.
The VORTEX Tracheo must only be used after receiving pro-
fessional instruction. The instruction can be performed by
healthcare professionals or by someone who was instructed by
healthcare professionals.
Individuals in the following groups must be supervised by a
person who is responsible for their safety:
– Babies, infants, and children
– Individuals with limited capabilities (e.g. physical, mental,
sensory)
If the patient is not able to operate the VORTEX Tracheo safely
himself, the therapy must be carried out by the responsible per-
son.
Only metered dose inhalers that have been approved for inha-
lation treatment must be used.
The VORTEX Tracheo can be used in a home environment
and in professional health institutions. When used in a home
environment, the VORTEX tracheo is intended for single-pa-
tient use only (no patient change). In a professional environ-
ment, the device can be used with different patients as long as
the corresponding hygiene reprocessing measures are ob-
served.
The VORTEX Tracheo is suitable only for patients who are
able to breathe by themselves and are conscious.
