2.3 Description of function
The VORTEX Tracheo helps the patient to inhale the medica-
tion from a metered dose inhaler evenly and completely.
The medication is sprayed into the inhalation chamber. There it
is dispersed uniformly and can be inhaled completely by the
patient in a few breaths. Consequently, it is not so important to
coordinate the timing of releasing and inhaling the medication.
It also prevents medication from being deposited in the wind-
pipe. Side effects associated with premature deposition are
avoided.
With the flexible connecting ring, it can be used with most com-
mon standard metered dose inhalers.
With the VORTEX tracheostomy adapter, the mouthpiece of
the VORTEX Tracheo can be connected to a tracheostomy
tube.
