Connecting the digital manifold - detail
Operating conditions for ascertaining the fill level:
– Temperature inside the vehicle and outside approx. 22°C or warmer
– Compressor RPM 1500 1/min
Take into account transmission rate of compressor / motor RPM
– Evaporator blower 100% PWM
– Allow liquefier blower to run pressure controlled at partial load. In
machines without partial load control cover the liquefier with
cardboard or connect a fan so that high-pressure of approx. 11bar is
achieved.

Charging procedure
Once the prescribed vacuum is achieved the refrigerant cycle should be
charged as quickly as possible from a suitable charging station at over-
pressure.
– The magnetic valves in the refrigerant hose must be closed again
before the charging operation.
– Fluid R 134a may only be filled in over the pressure line in the com-
1
pressor so as to avoid swamping the cylinder head with fluid R 134a
(liquid hammer).
– Pre-fill the unit with an initial charging of 5 kg refrigerant.
– Start the motor, increase the RPM to 1500/min in the compressor,
switch on the air-conditioning unit and slowly increase the charging
volume in steps of 100 grams until the subcooling rises after the su-
per-cooler (display on the manifold) from 2 K to 9 K.
– Now the super-cooler is full of liquid refrigerant, and the sight glass
does not show any bubbles. Now add 1.5 kg refrigerant (half volume
of the refrigerant collector) to keep a certain volume of refrigerant in
reserve.
Attention:
The REVO air-conditioning unit should not be overfilled. The charging
volume must be defined exactly.
If the unit is overfilled (above 3 kg refrigerant) the high pressure and
subcooling will increase rapidly. In such case as much of refrigerant
must be suctioned out until subcooling drops down to below 10K.
On completing the charging procedure dismantle the manifold and sc-
rew fix the protective cap on the valve connections.
