Warnings and preliminary checks upon installation
2
Please read the instructions carefully prior to instal-
ling. Incorrect installation may be hazardous.
WARNING! Check that the selected operator is suitable to the
application foreseen. Check the suitability of the product in
case of installation in particularly harsh or dusty environments.
Check that the temperature range marked on the drive is sui-
table for the location.
WARNING! The load applied must not exceed the thrust force stated
on the plate of the selected operator (considering that the load on
the window may be effected by wind, snow and ice, particularly in
cases of bottom-hung, outward closing windows or large wings).
WARNING! Aprimatic products must be installed by specialised
technical personnel with suitable technical skills and specifi c
knowledge on window motorization, reference technical legisla-
tion and accident prevention standards.
IMPORTANT! The operator may cause injury from crushing
or dragging! It has a MAX thrust force and pull force of 350N.
The fi ttings and the mounting points of the accessories must
be able to withstand these stresses!
The operator may not be considered as a supporting or safety
part of the window. The window must be provided with suitable
systems for the support and safety of the same and must be
fi tted with safety arms suitable for the weight and the surface
of the window.
Check that the components of the window, the hinges and the
fi ttings used allow the complete operating stroke of the opera-
tor. Otherwise the components may undergo excessive tensile
stress and/or thrust stress by the operator and be consequently
damaged; the same applies to the operator.
NOTE: We would like to remind you that motorized windows
must comply with the Machinery Directive and the Construction
Material Directive.
The remote controls must be predisposed at a minimum
height from the ground of 1.5 m, away from moving parts and
in such a position that the controlled window is visible during
the activation.
If unattended (remote) operation is arranged, additional safety
devices should be installed.
NOTE: If anomalies are detected or doubts arise, the installa-
tion of the operator is prohibited and the dealer or the manu-
facturer must be contacted for Technical Support.
Installation
3
Follow the manufacturer's instructions. The installation
must be carried out with the window in the closed position.
Bottom-hung, outward opening window (fi g.1)
a. Mark the centre line of the window with a pencil.
b. Align the window mounting bracket with the centre line by
using the centre line indicator as reference. Align the quick-fi t
with the centre line of the mobile wing of the window, positioning
it at a minimum height of 10 mm from the frame, in consideration
of the c/c distances of the fi xing holes (see fi gures in fi g.1 bc).
c. With a suitable drilling machine, drill the marked points using
a drill tip of Ø3.75.
d. Secure the quick-fi t (2) to the window by using the self tap-
ping screws 4,2x16 UNI 6954 (3) provided.
WARNING! For aluminium windows use the screws provi-
ded. For fi xing on wooden windows, use wooden screws
of a length that suits the thickness of the window.
6
e. Fix the operator supporting bracket (1) to the frame of the window
with the four self tapping screws 4,2x16 UNI 6954 (5) provided.
f. Adjust the opening stroke through the dip switch, for more
details see par.3 "Adjusting the stroke".
g. Fix the operator (6) to the bracket (1) locking it with the
special bracket pins (7).
N.B. The "fi xed" operator securing requires two pins (7)
for each bracket, while the pivoting application requires
a single pin.
h. Insert the chain end piece (9) in the seat of the quick-fi t (2)
and lock it with a special locking joining pin (4).
The chain can be micrometrically adjusted by working on the
eyelet pin on the chain end piece.
N.B. Make sure that the chain end piece (A) is in line with the
window mounting (B). Otherwise repeat the drilling operations
by repositioning the operator correctly; a misalignment between
the two may damage both the operator and the window.
i. Create the electrical connections as described in par. 4 and
with reference to the wiring diagram.
l. Run an operation test to make sure that the operator reaches
the limit switch triggering positions correctly without obstacles.
Bottom-hung, inward opening window (fi g.2)
a. Mark the centre line of the window with a pencil.
b. Align the window mounting bracket with the centre line by using
the centre line indicator as reference. Align the quick-fi t with
the centre line of the fi xed wing of the window, in consideration
of the c/c distances of the fi xing holes (see fi gures in fi g.2 bc).
c. With a suitable drilling machine, drill the marked points using
a drill tip of Ø3.75.
d. Secure the window mounting bracket (1) to the window by
using the self tapping screws 4,2x16 UNI 6954 (3) contained
in the accessory bag.
e. Tighten the quick-fi t (4) to the bottom-hung, inward opening
window bracket (5) through the two self tapping screws 4,2x16
UNI 6954 (6). Fix the preassembled bottom-hung, inward
opening window mounting to the mobile frame of the window
by using the two self tapping screws 4.2 x 16 (7).
WARNING! For aluminium windows use the screws provi-
ded. For fi xing on wooden windows, use wooden screws
of a length that suits the thickness of the window.
f. Adjust the opening stroke through the dip switch, for more
details see par.3 "Adjusting the stroke".
g. Fix the operator (8) to the bracket (1) locking it with the
special bracket pins (9).
N.B. The "fi xed" operator securing requires two pins (9)
for each bracket, while the pivoting application requires
a single pin.
h. Insert the chain end piece (12) in the seat of the quick-fi t (4)
and lock it with a special locking joining pin (2).
N.B. Make sure that the chain end piece (A) is in line with the
window mounting (B). Otherwise repeat the drilling operations
by repositioning the operator correctly; a misalignment between
the two may damage both the operator and the window.
i. Create the electrical connections as described in par.4 and
with reference to the wiring diagram.
l. Run an operation test to make sure that the operator rea-
ches the limit switch triggering positions correctly without
obstacles.
