4. Safety instructions
• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and protect it from any accidental use. Safe
operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
• Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height can damage the product.
• Also observe the safety and operating instructions of any other devices which are connected to the product.
Laser
• Due to the high laser power and the consequent high risk of injuries, the product must only be used for professional
applications. Operation for private use is not permitted.
• The variety of regulations and laws for the safe operation of such a laser device are beyond the scope of this manual. For
that reason we will here and in the following chapters only introduce the most important safety precautions. You are strictly
required to contact a laser expert before operating the device and to inquire at your local authorities (e.g. Employer's
Liability Insurance Association) about applicable regulations.
• The product is equipped with a laser of laser class 3B according to EN 60825-1. Never open the device. Setting or
maintenance tasks must only be executed by a trained specialist familiar with potential hazards. Improperly executed
adjustments might result in dangerous laser radiation.
• Before first-time operation, the operator must inform the responsible accident insurance provider and the official body
responsible for labour safety (usually the trade supervision) about such operation and must also appoint a laser safety
officer.
• The laser safety officer must be present during first-time operation to control and monitor the operation.
• All persons present in the laser area during operation or when making adjustments within the laser area must wear safety
goggles.
• Never look into the laser beam and never point it at people or animals. Laser beams or their reflection can damage eyes
and skin.
• This laser device incorporates very strong laser light sources, which is why you must never open the housing. The laser
beam inside the device can cause permanent eye injuries, skin burns or fire.
• When operating the laser device and directing the laser, make sure that no persons are present in the projection area
and that advertently reflected laser beams (e.g. reflecting objects) could not reach locations of people. Block the beams
with screenings or wall partitions. Directing the laser beam without blocking its direction (e.g. pointing it at the sky) is not
permitted.
• Direct the laser in such a way that the lowest beams are located at a minimum height of 3 m above the soil.
• Never point the laser beam at mirrors or other reflecting surfaces (such as windows, metal surfaces, or similar). The
uncontrolled, reflected beam may strike people or animals.
• Operate the laser device in monitored areas only.
• Mark the laser area with barriers or warning signs.
• The laser beam must not be pointed at planes or other means of transportation.
• Never use the laser effect if the lenses or the housing are damaged.
• Caution! Using operating equipment or additional procedures not covered in this manual can cause dangerous laser beam
exposure.
