1.4 LIMITATIONS FOR USE. CONTRAINDICATIONS

The analysis of the results of a spirometry test is not enough to make a correct diagnostic
about the clinical condition of the patient. Interpretation of tests must be complemented
by the clinical history or other test that the doctor considers appropriate for deciding the
correct treatment.
The collaboration of the patient is required to make a spirometry test. Complete forced
expiration is necessary to obtain significant FVC values. The physician must assess the
patient's ability to perform these tests. Pay special attention to children, the elderly and
people with disabilities.
Medical staff must consider the symptoms showed by the patient. The acceptability of a
test is the responsibility of the sanitary staff.
