Determination of the Rotary Field
"Connect and position the UNITEST M-Indicator to
the motor ensuring that the longitudinalaxis of the
test instrument is in parallel to the longitudinal axis
of the motor.
"Press button On (6). The green LED indicates that
the instrument is ready for testing.
If the LED R (3) is illuminated, a clockwise rotary field
is present (right-handed rotation). If the LED L (4) is
illuminated, a counter-clockwise rotary field is pres-
ent when looking onto the motor shaft.

Table 1 shows the minimum motor diameter with ref-
erence to the pole pair number to obtain a reliable test
result (sensor distance: 2.8 cm):(see page 24)
The contact-free rotary field determination isn´t
suitable about engines which are controled by
frequency converter´s.
