Determination of the Rotary Field
When connecting to a voltage >120V AC the glow
lamps are illuminated for phase control purpose.
"Press button ON (6). The green LED indicates that
the instrument is ready for testing.
"If the LED R (3) is illuminated, a clockwise rotary
field is present. If the LED L (4) is illuminated, a
counter-clockwise rotary field is present.
The phase control is displayed even if the neutral
conductor N is connected instead of L1, L2,or L3.
Imperatively verify correct phase connection car-
rying out a bipolar test using a voltage tester, e.g.
UNITEST 2000 alpha.

6.0 Contact-free rotary field determina-
tion
Remove connected test leads to avoid injuries
caused by entanglement into rotating parts.
The safety measures of accident prevention reg-
ulations regarding the work with rotating machines
must be fulfilled!
The UNITEST M-Indicator allows the contact-free ro-
tary direction determination of a running synchronous
or asynchronous three-phase motor.
