2.2 Inspection Before Use
The following inspections must be completed before using the KEMPER autoflow XP
blower respirator system; the safety guidelines in Section 1.2 „Safety Guidelines"
must observed:
1. All blower respirator system components (Image 1.6-1) must be checked for damage;
damaged components must be replaced immediately.
2. Only components that have been appropriated tested and labelled may be used
(see Section 1.3 „Labelling").
3. Verify that the particle filter has been inserted in the blower unit.
4. Verify that the battery is charged.
5. Check the warning device on the blower unit to verify minimum nominal volume flow.
Proceed as follows (Image 2.2-1):
• Turn on the blower unit by pressing the ON button (Pos. 2) for approx. two seconds.
Once the blower is turned on, ensure that the blower is in the first power stage (Pos. 3) and
that a green LED lights up on the blower level display.
• Seal the air outlet (Pos. 1) with the hand so that it is airtight. The blower's speed should
now be clearly heard. After approx. 20 seconds a warning tone should sound and the filter
saturation display (Pos. 4, all 4 LEDs) begins to blink. Release the air outlet so that
the warning signals are turned off. Repeat the process if the blower unit does not behave
as described. If the problem persists, there might be a malfunction with the controls
and/or the blower. The blower unit must then be sent it to be examined.
By no means should it be used!
• Turn off the blower unit by pressing the OFF button (Pos. 2) for approx. five seconds.
