Chapt. 6 LOGIC-DROP (Electronic device that protects the electrical pump) models
MULTIMAX 4 -5S LOGIC-DROP
Multimax 4s logic drop – multimax 5s logic drop electrical pumps are fitted with an integrated LOGIC DROP
system. LOGIC DROP is an electronic device that protects the electrical pump against running on dry and/or
from excessive power absorption.
Control Panel (fig. A)
Green LED light on: "Power-on" Pump connected to the power supply
Yellow LED light on "Pump-on" Pump running Flashing
Red LED light "Failure" lack of water
Red "Restart" button to Reset after an anomaly
Fixed red LED "Failure" light: excessive current absorption
How it functions:
LOGIC-DROP monitors the electric parameters of the electrical pump and records the difference between the
values entered and those generated by a lack of water and/or by excessive power absorption. In case of an
anomaly LOGIC DROP will stop the motor and send a "FAILURE" message using a flashing or fixed red LED light.
Overload protection
The pump will stop in case of an overload. The motor will restart automatically after it has cooled. (For causes and the
relative solutions, please see finding faults, point 3).
Resect functions
DANGER
Press the RESTART button to restart the equipment and the system as normal. If the power is cut off, the
machine will automatically be restored to a serviceable condition when it returns.
Ch. 7 Maintenance and troubleshooting
DANGER
Electric shock
risk
In ordinary conditions, FLOTEC MULTIMAX series electropumps do not require any maintenance. To prevent possible
problems, it is advisable to periodically check the pressure supplied and current absorption. A reduction of the pressure
may indicate that the electropump is worn. Sand and other corrosive materials present in the delivery fluid cause a
rapid wear and a reduction of performance. In this case, it is advisable to use a filter. An increase in current absorption
indicates the presence of abnormal mechanical friction in the pump and/or the motor.
If the electropump is not going to be used for a long period of time (i.e. one year), it is advisable to empty it completely (by
opening the drain cap, see Fig. 1 n. 10), rinse it with clean water and store it in a dry location, where it can be protected
from frost.
PROBLEM
1) THE ELECTROPUMP
DOES NOT PUMP WATER,
THE MOTOR DOES NOT RUN
2) THE ELECTROPUMP

Removing the cause of the anomaly (chapt. 7)
Make sure the machine is disconnected from electric power
supply, before performing maintenance operation.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
1) No power.
2) Defective condenser.
3) Shaft blocked.
4) LOGIC-DROP enabled.
1) The power supply does not comply
with the data on the nameplate.
2) A solid object is blocking the
impellers.
3) LOGIC-DROP enabled.
1) Verify that voltage is present and that the plug
has been correctly inserted.
2) Contact the Customer Assistance
Service.
3) Verify the cause and unblock the
electropump.
4) See Chapter 6.
1) Check the voltage on the power supply
cable leads.
2) Contact the Customer Assistance
Service.
3) See Chapter 6.
