•
You might notice a small amount of smoke the fi rst time you use the device. This is
harmless and will cease as you use the device.
•
When the steam is pumped towards the steam outlet opening of the bottom of
the iron, the pump generates a noise in the form of a humming sound. This noise
is produced for technical reasons and does not represent a defect with the device.
•
Make sure that the water reservoir is not completely emptied during use in order
to prevent damage to the water pump. If the water reservoir is completely emptied,
loud pumping noises can be heard. In this case, switch off the steam immediately,
move the temperature control to Min, pull out the mains plug and top up the water
reservoir. The steam function can then be used again without restriction.
•
For best results, we recommend setting the temperature control on higher tem-
perature levels (•• and higher), when using the steam irong function. Thus, the the
steam is additionally heated via the hot ironing plate.
•
Only switch on the steam funktion, when the device has reached working tem-
perature on a higher temperature level (•• and higher), i.e. when the temperature
control lamp has switched off. The heating process can take up to 2 minutes, if
the device has just been switched on.
•
When pressing the steam button for the fi rst time after switching on the device,
water can be emitted in additon to steam. This is normal and should stop after
a while.
1. Fill up the water reservoir (see the "Filling/Emptying the Water Reservoir" chapter).
2. Place the device upright on a stable, fl at, heat-resistant and moisture-resistant surface.
3. Check the label in the item of clothing to fi nd out the required ironing temperature.
4. Make sure that the temperature control is on level Min and connect the device to a prop-
erly installed, easily accessible plug socket. When putting the device into operation, make
sure that the steam function is deactivated (the steam control indicator has to be off, after
connection the device to a plug socket!). Activate the steam function not until the device
has reached operating temperature.
5. Set a temperature level with the aid of the temperature control. Turn the small wheel
until you have set the desired temperature level (•, ••, ••• Max). As soon as you have set
a temperature level, the heating process starts immediately. The temperature indicator
lights up during the heating process and switches off, when the adjusted temperature has
been reached. During use the device starts heating from time to time in order to maintain
a constant operating temperature. Accordingly, the temperature indicator lights up and
switches off frequently.
6. To produce a continuous fl ow of steam, press one of the two steam buttons. When the
steam function is activated, the steam control indicator will light up.
7. To stop the fl ow of steam, press the steam button again. The steam control indicator will
go out, when the the steam function is deactivated.
8. Make sure that the water reservoir is not emptied completely during use. Top up the water
reservoir in the manner described in the "Filling/Emptying the Water Reservoir" chapter.
9. After use, switch off the steam button, move the temperature control to Min and pull the
plug out of the plug socket. Place the device upright on its base and allow it to cool down
completely before you empty the water reservoir (see the "Filling/Emptying the Water
Reservoir" chapter) and/or clean and store away the device.
