ENGLISH
If instead combustion air is absorbed by the installation premises, then
appropriately sized vents must be installed conforming to technical standards.
Keep in mind the space required for access to the safety and adjustment
systems and for carrying out maintenance jobs.
Make sure that the electrical protection of the boiler is adequate for
the characteristics of installation premises.
Electrical parts must be placed higher than 500 mm from the ground
for boilers running on combustible gas with specific weight exceeding
that of air.
For correct appliance positioning:
- do not place it on a cooker or other cooking device
- do not leave inflammable products in the room where the boiler is installed
- heat sensitive walls (for example, wooden walls) must be protected with
proper insulation.
3.1 FIXING THE PREASSEMBLY TEMPLATE (fig. 16)
Caldariello C boilers are designed and produced for installation on heating
and hot water producing systems.
- Place the cardboard template on the wall, using a spirit level: check correct
horizontal plane and that the boiler support surface is flat; shim where
necessary.
- Trace out the fixture points
- Remove template and drill holes
- Fix suitable screw anchors to the wall
- Use a spirit level to check correct horizontal position.
FIXING THE BOILER
- Hook the boiler onto the anchor screws
3.2 WATER CONNECTIONS
When connecting the boiler to the systems, apart from installing a cut-off
cock for the hot water, it is also advisable to install cut-off cocks for the
heating system; a kit with heating system cocks and a kit with heating cocks
with filter are available to this end.
It is up to the installer to choose and install the system's components;
the latter will work according to rules of good practice and to legislation
in force.
Hydraulic circuit breakers must be used for systems filled with anti-
freeze.
The safety valve outlet from the boiler must be connected to a suitable
collection and drainage system.
The boiler manufacturer will not be held liable for any flooding caused
by the safety valves.
If the water used has a total hardness of between 25°F and 50°F,
install the hot water treatment kit; with total hardness exceeding 50°F,
the effectiveness of the kit is gradually reduced, it is therefore advisable
to use a higher performing appliance or carry out total softening; even
with total hardness below 25°F, it will still be necessary to install a
suitably sized filter if the water comes from not perfectly clean/cleanable
distribution networks.
3.3 ELECTRIC CONNECTION
The boilers leave the factory completely wired with the power cable already
connected and they only need the connection of the ambient thermostat
(AT) to be carried out in the specific terminals.
To access the terminal board:
- turn off the system general switch
- undo the fixing screws (A) of the shell (fig. 17)
- move forward and then upwards the shell base to unhook it from the
chassis
- undo the fixing screws (B) of the instrument panel (fig. 18)
- turn the instrument panel upside down
- remove the terminal board cover (fig. 19)
- insert the cable of the possible T.A. (fig. 20)
The ambient thermostat must be connected as indicated on the wiring
diagram on fig.13.
Ambient thermostat input in safety low voltage (24 Vdc).
The connection to the mains supply must be carried out through a separation
device with omnipolar opening of at least 3.5 mm (EN 60335-1, category III).
The appliance operates with an alternating current of 230 Volt/50 Hz and an
electrical power of 100 W (and complies with the standard EN 60335-1.
It is compulsory to carry out connection with an efficient earth circuit,
according to national and local legislation.

The manufacturer declines liability for any damage if the appliance was not
connected to an earth circuit.
Use the power cable supplied to connect the boiler to the mains power
supply.
If the power cable is replaced, use a cable type HAR H05V2V2-F, 3 x
0.75 mm2, with max. outside diameter 7 mm
3.4 GAS CONNECTION
Before connecting the appliance to the gas network, check that:
- national and local regulations are complied
- the gas type is the one suitable for the appliance
- the piping is clean.
3.5 FUMES EXHAUSTION AND AIR SUCTION
Caldariello boilers must have appropriate ducts for fumes outlet and air
intake, according to the type of installation.
Ducts are an integrant part of the boiler but are supplied in separate kits, for
improved installation flexibility.
"FORCED OPEN" INSTALLATION (TYPE B22P/B52P)
Fumes outlet duct Ø 80 mm
The fumes outlet duct can be aimed in the most suitable direction for
installation needs.
To install follow the instructions supplied with the kit.
In this configuration, the boiler is connected to the Ø 80 mm fumes outlet
duct by means of a Ø 60-80 mm adaptor (fig. 21).
When necessary, the flue gas flange (L) must be removed using a screwdriver
as a lever.
The boiler automatically adapts ventilation according to the type of installation
and the length of the duct.
INSTALLATION "SEALED" (TYPE C)
The boiler must be connected to concentric or twin fumes discharge and air
intake ducts which must both be taken outside. Do not use the boiler without
them.
CONCENTRIC OUTLETS (Ø 60-100)
The boiler has been designed to be connected to concentric outlet/suction
pipes and with the opening for air suction (M) closed (fig. 22). The concentric
outlets can be places in the most suitable direction according to room
requirements, complying with the maximum lengths indicated in the table.
For installation, follow the instructions supplied with the kit.
According to the length of the pipes used, it is necessary to insert a flange,
selecting one from those contained in the boiler (see the following table).
It is advisable to comply with neutral phase connection (L-N).
The earth wire must be a couple of centimetres longer than the others.
Do not use gas and/or water pipes to earth electrical appliance.
The gas pipe must be installed outdoor. If the pipe goes through the
wall, it must go through the central opening, in the lower part of the
template.
It is advisable to install a filter of suitable dimensions on the gas line
if the distribution network had solid particles.
Once the appliance has been installed check that connections are
sealed according to current installation regulations
In this case, the combustion supporting air is taken from the room in
which the boiler is installed, which must be a suitable and ventilated
technical room.
Non-insulated fumes outlet ducts are potential sources of danger.
