Frequently Asked Questions

1. The technical specifications show an operating range of 300m/
1000ft outdoors. Why does my baby monitor manage much less
than that?
The specified range is only valid outdoors in open air. Inside your house, the
workable range is limited by the amount and type of walls and/ or ceilings in
between. Inside the house the operating range will be up to 50m / 150ft.
2. The link is lost every now and then, sound interruptions etc.
You are probably approaching the outer limits of the practical range. Try a
different location or decrease the distance between the units slightly. Please
note that it takes about 30 seconds each time before a new link between the
units is established.
3. What happens during a power supply failure at the baby unit?
When batteries are installed in the baby unit, it will automatically switch over
to battery use in case of mains failure.
4. Is my baby monitor secure from eavesdropping and interference?
The 120 (for NA FCC/ IC) channels guarantee no interference from other
equipment.
5. The technical specifications show an operating time for the parent
unit batteries of 24 hours. Why is the battery operating time of the par-
ent unit less than that?
a.) The parent unit batteries are not fully charged. When the charging light
goes off, this indicates the batteries have gained their maximum capacity
and are fully charged.
b.) The volume setting may be too high. When the volume is set to a high
level, the unit consumes more power. Set the volume to a lower level.
c.) The microphone sensitivity may be too high. When the microphone
sensitivity is set to a high level, the unit consumes more power. Set the
microphone sensitivity to a lower level.
