WOOD FUEL
IMPORTANT
:Neveruse toxicwood suchas chipboard, impregnated orpainted wood.
Goodquality wood is the most important factorin your stoveworking efficiently and cleanly. Always use dry
firewood. Thedryness of the firewood plays an important role since the use of wet woodresults in poorfuel
economyand may causea tarry sooty film onthe internals of the stove.
Newly cut wood contains60-70% water, making it totally unsuitable foruse as firewood.
Newly cut wood should be stacked and air dried undercoverfor two years beforebeing used as firewood.
SOLID SMOKELESS FUELS– Westfire stoves are only CE/EN/HETAStested and approved for wood. It is possible,
however, to use other types of fuel with duecare. Whenusing coal/smokeless fuel youmust use a coal insert and
a mix of 80% wood, 20% coal. Please notecoalreducesthe lifetime of the stoveand the chimney considerably.
PETROLEUM COKE IS NOT SUITABLE FOR USE ON THIS STOVE;ITS USE WILL INVALIDATE THE GUARANTEE
