First observations
For your fi rst observations with your telesco-
pe, you should choose the moon as your ob-
ject. It is clearly visible even with the naked
eye, and therefore is also easy to fi nd with
your telescope.
First loosen both locating screws for the ver-
tical fi ne adjustment mechanism (12) and the
vertical axis (13) Then move the telescope (1)
in the direction of the moon.

Look through the fi nderscope (2) and move
the telescope (1) until the moon (or a portion
of it) is visible in the fi nder.
When you can see the moon through the fi n-
derscope, tighten the locating screws (12)
+ (13) again in order to lock the telescope's
position. (2) und bewege das Fernrohr (1) so-
lange, bis der Mond oder ein Ausschnitt des
Mondes im Sucher zu sehen ist.

Now you can observe the portion of the moon
magnifi ed through the eyepiece (14). You can
always adjust the focus of the image with the
focus adjustment knob (7).
Tip: You can change the magnifi cation by
changing the eyepieces. You'll learn more
about this in the next section.
