ADJUSTMENTS
TO CHANGE CUTTING WHEEL DEPTH
See Figure 37.
The depth stop screw limits the wheel's downward travel allowing
the wheel to go below the table enough to maintain full
cutting capacities. When the saw arm is locked in the down
position, this is the position for all cuts except for plunge
cuts and non-through cuts.
The depth stop screw is factory set to provide maximum
cutting capacity for the wheel provided with the saw. Make
adjustments if desired.
WARNING:
Improperly adjusting the cutting wheel depth could
cause the cutting wheel to come in contact with the
sliding table resulting in damage to the unit and/or
possible serious injury.
 Unplug the saw.
 S et the saw arm to a 0° angle.
 Unlock the plunge lock lever and lower the saw arm so
that the blade sits in the groove in the sliding table.
NOTE: Do not lock the plunge lock lever while making
this adjustment.
 I f the wheel is not just below the table surface, adjust the
set screw.
 A fter adjustments are complete, raise and lower the cut-
ting wheel to the table to check wheel clearance.
 Perform a dry run of the cutting operation to make sure
that the blade will not contact the table at any point of
travel.
 R eadjust if necessary.
POSITIVE STOP ADJUSTMENTS
See Figure 38.
NOTE: These adjustments were made at the factory and
normally do not require readjustment.
 Unplug the saw.
If the wheel is not perfectly vertical (0°):
 Loosen the bevel lock knob.
 Place a combination square beside the wheel.
 Using a hex key, turn the 0° hex bolt until the wheel is
square to the table and the hex bolt is resting on the saw
housing.
 Tighten the bevel lock knob. Check again after raising
and lowering the saw head.
If the wheel is not an exact 45°:
 Set the saw arm to a 45° angle.
 Place a combination square beside the wheel and set the
saw arm at 45°.
 Using a hex key, turn the 45° hex bolt until the hex bolt
is resting on the saw housing.
