2.1 Setting up the tripod
Adjusting the tripod legs
1.
Loosen the tripod locking screws and pull out the lower section of a tripod leg. Tighten the locking screw
on the leg until it can no longer slip. Carry out this procedure with all three tripod legs.
2.
Spread out the tripod legs and place the tripod on even ground.
3.
Now you can adjust the height of each tripod leg until the upper connection plate is level. Aligning the
mount later will be more straightforward if this is level.
4.
Now fasten the accessory tray to the centre brace of the tripod. As the name implies, this is meant for
storing accessories for short periods during observing. In addition, it also stabilizes the tripod assembly.
2.2 Attaching the mount
1.
Take the parallactic mount and insert the lower pick-up flange onto the tripod's connection plate.
This plate offers a flat surface and a central hole so that the mount can be easily inserted.
2.
While holding the mount securely with one hand, insert the large thumb screw from underneath the tripod
plate and screw it into the mount. Make sure that the screw is tightened and that the mount now sits
securely on the tripod.
