2.11 Log Arrangement: Natural gas
1 bag of Embers, 6 ceramic logs
Procedure: First place the Mat on top of the Bur-
ner and place the grate plate on top of the Mat
and Burner.
Scatter the contents of the bag of embers evenly
over the top of the burner and grate area, lea-
ving the rear part of the grate uncovered, except
for one large ember placed in one of the rear
corners. Ensure that no embers enter the pilot
shield (Fig. 11).
Now place the large log across the rear of the
fi rebox, so that it is on top of the grate, but po-
sitioned fully to one side, and on top of the one
rear ember (Fig. 12).
Next place the largest remaining log, position it
fully to one side of the fi rebox, the same side
that the rear log is against, and sitting on top of
the rear log; the opposite end will be in the front
corner of the fi rebox on the same side. Place one
of the two logs that is not a "Y" shape on the
opposite side of the fi rebox. This log should be
placed fully up to the back fi rebrick, alongside
the rear log (Fig. 13).

Position the fi nal log at the front of the fi rebox, in
front of the pilot shield (Fig. 15)
2.12 Log Arrangement: Propane
1 bag of Embers, 6 ceramic logs
Procedure: First place the Mat on top of the
Burner and place the grate plate on top of the
Mat and Burner.
Scatter the contents of the bag of embers evenly
over the top of the burner and grate area,
leaving the rear part of the grate uncovered,
except for one large ember placed in one of
the rear corners. Also importantly for the LPG
arrangement, do not place embers over the gas
ports of the burner and leave the slots around
the grate clear. Ensure that no embers enter the
pilot shield (Fig. 16).
Now place the large log across the rear of the
fi rebox, so that it is on top of the grate, but
positioned fully to one side, and on top of the
one rear ember (Fig. 17).
