Safety instructions
The continuous feed shredder must be com
pletely assembled before use. Never assemble
the continuous feed shredder on the base
unit.
Do not attach/remove the continuous feed
shredder until the drive is at a standstill and
the mains plug has been pulled out.
Operate the continuous feed shredder only
as directed.
Keep fingers clear of the filling shaft and outlet,
use the pusher to force down the ingredients.
Risk of injury from sharp cutting discs.
Predetermined breaking point
The predetermined breaking point protects the
drive.
An overload causes the drive coupling to
break. However, it can be easily replaced.
A new drive coupling is enclosed with the
appliance. New drive shafts of the drive
coupling are available from customer service.
When inserting a new drive shaft, ensure that
the claws on the drive coupling engage with
one of the grooves on the drive shaft.

d Risk of injury!
Do not grip the sharp blades or edges of the
cutting discs.Take hold of cutting discs by the
flat sides only!
Attention!
If the MUM8 is not operated with the original
bowl, the tool drive cover must be attached
(Fig. 8).
Reversible slicing disc - thick/thin
for slicing fruit and vegetables.
Process on setting 3.
Designation on the reversible slicing disc:
1" for the thick slicing side
3" for the thin slicing side
Warning!
The reversible slicing disc is not suitable for
slicing hard cheese, bread, bread rolls or
chocolate. Slice boiled potatoes only when
cold.
Reversible shredding disc - coarse/
fine
for shredding vegetables, fruit and cheese, ex
cept hard cheese (e.g. parmesan)
Process on setting 3 or 4
Designation on the reversible shredding disc:
2" for the coarse shredding side
4" for the fine shredding side
Warning!
The reversible shredding disc is not suitable
for shredding nuts. Shred soft cheese with the
coarse side only (on setting 4).
Grating disc - medium fine
for grating raw potatoes, hard cheese (e.g.
parmesan), refrigerated chocolate and nuts.
Process on setting 4.
Warning!
The grating disc is not suitable for grating soft
cheese or cheese slices.
S Attach the drive shaft with the predeter
mined breaking point face down to the con
tinuous feed shredder (Fig. 1).
S Insert desired slicing or shredding disc.
If using the reversible discs, ensure that
the desired side is face up (Fig. 2).
S Attach the lid (note mark) and rotate as far as
possible in a clockwise direction (Fig. 3).
S Press the release button and move the
swivel arm into the operating position.
