– whilst wearing the brace, please neither use any creams nor ointments on or around
it as they can destroy the material
Fitting instructions: Information for the patient
The brace should be worn directly over the clothes. Avoid easing the clothes in the
vicinity of the brace, this may result in pressure sores.
1
Open the front, wide brace fastener. Guide the arms through the shoulder
loops as accustomed for a rucksack. Then close the front, wide fastener on the
stomach under slight tension. Ensure a good fit, the ventral plate should be positioned a
little above the groin.
2
Straighten yourself up actively ("make yourself big") and tighten both shoulder
straps in sync by pulling them lightly.
3
If you find the correction unpleasant, you can reduce it by tilting the shoulder
strap's guide loops downwards and upwards with your thumbs as for a rucksack.
Removal
To remove the brace, release the shoulder straps as described above, open the front
stomach fastener and take the brace off like a rucksack.
Information for the technician:
Important note on use: The brace may only be adapted by expert staff.
The brace can be set with TWO different degrees of stability.
The following adaption describes the more stable/firmer brace setting (delivery status)
4
To adapt the back plate, remove the Velcro protector on the lower inner side of
the brace. Then, remove the back plate from the splint bag with the attached
reinforcement module.
5
To shape the back plate slightly, detach the clasps which connect the
reinforcement module to the back plate. For this, press the side lever on the grey
clasp downwards, spread it apart and push the clasp away outwards.
