6. Check before use

- Do not use the suspended platform system unless you have read and completely understood this manual and are fully com
pliant with all the requirements and conditions specified.
- Use gloves, work shoes and a helmet to prevent injuries during assembly, use and disassembly.
- Before use check all components for damage, deformations and other defects. Check that all the components specified in
the configuration table of this manual are present.
- Carry out a check and make sure that the equipment is safe and in perfect working condition.
- Check the stability of the suspended platform system at all times.
- Check for obstructions along the travel path of the platform.
- Make sure an area is available to allow personnel to get on and off the platform safely.
- Make sure the area around and below the platform system is closed or safe for passers-by. (e.g. barriers, roof protected
walkways, etc.)
- Check all connections, hoists, roof beams and counterweight
- Check whether the stirrups are aligned with the suspension rigs (also the ones on roofs).
- Examine the installation according to the checklist, see chapter 14.
- The above checks must be carried out by a qualified person after assembly, before each use (daily) and after every emer
gency stop or incident.
- Check whether the maximum allowed load is not exceeded and check the maximum number of people allowed on the work
platform according to the load tables in appendix T6. These tables also appear on the end-stirrups or walkthrough stirrups
of the suspended platform.
- Check whether the suspension rig is suitable for the hoist capacity of the hoists that you use and check the load capacity of
the roof construction.
- Check whether the right number of counterweights is used for the assembled roof beam configuration. See also the configu
ration and load capacity tables in appendices T5 and T6.
