This manual applies exclusively to Altrex MHB temporary suspended platforms (hereinafter: 'suspended platforms') as descri-
bed in this safety, assembly & user manual (hereinafter: 'manual'). Prior to starting to assemble the suspended platform, you
should carefully read this manual. The required suspended platform should be assembled and used in accordance with this
manual. All instructions in this manual must be followed strictly. Failure to follow the instructions contained in this manual can
easily result in serious accidents. Altrex cannot be held liable for any loss resulting from the assembly or use of an Altrex sus-
pended platform that is not in compliance with the manual. The employer, supervisor and user are responsible for the correct
use of the suspended platform in accordance with this manual and they must ensure that this manual is available at all times
when work is being carried out using the suspended platform. Additional copies of the manual can be ordered from your Altrex
dealer.
Local legislation and regulations may encompass additional measures to those stated in this manual.

Type of suspended platform
- MHB60 - with end-stirrups (2 -15 m)
- MHB60 - with walk-through stirrups (2-21m)
- MHB80 - with end-stirrups (2-18 m)
- MHB80 - with walk-through stirrups (2-26m)
Conditions of use
- Maximum load: see load capacity and configuration tables (Annex T4)
- Maximum wind load: 13,8 m/s (max. 6 Beaufort)
- Temperature range: -20°C tot +55°C
- Humidity range: 30% - 95%
- Energy source: An earth leakage circuit breaker (RCCB) of 30 mA and an automatic fuse of sufficient amperage (type C)
must be used at the power source (see hoist manual).
Use
- The installation includes the suspended platform, stirrups, the electro mechanical hoists including central control (CCB) and
its' safety devices and roof beams.
- The installation is applied as a temporary workplace in construction, inspection and maintenance of façades, chimneys,
towers, etc.
- The installation may not be used for activities in silos, unless a number of conditions are met. Please contact your supplier
for further details.
- The installation is not meant to be used as an elevator for persons or goods.
- Suspended platform : that portion of TSAE assembly designed to carry persons and their equipment
- Temporary suspended access equipment (TSAE): suspended access equipment system, consisting of a working plat
form, hoists, central control box, steel suspension ropes and suspension rigs. This suspended access system can be used
for tempory access to the facade of a building or construction.
- Hoist: electrical device that is capable of climbing or descending a steel wire rope, while carrying a load, like e.g. a work
platform
- Central control box (CCB): control panel from which the hoists can be operated
- Suspension rig: portion of the TSAE from which a platform is suspended
- Roof beam: static beam where the stability is assured by counterweights, consists of a long beam with an outboard and
inboard portion
- Suspension rope: active steel wire rope, mounted on the suspension rig, carrying the suspended load
