PLUG n'FLY
We are very proud to provide you with this model because we offer it in a Plug n'Fly version.
The "assembly" operations below are visible in a small video available on the product page of our website www.topmodel.fr.
l 1- Connect the 4 servos and the speed controller to the receiver.
In our case for the JETI Duplex R5L receiver:
Channel 1: Left aileron / flap servo
l
Channel 2: Right aileron / flap servo
l
Channel 3: elevator servo
l
Channel 4: rudder servo
l
Channel 5: throttle (speed controller)
l
The XPower Xreg20 V5 controller is programmed for you at the factory, as follows:
Para 1: Brake Type
Para 2: Brake force
Para 3: Voltage Cut-off Type
Para 4: LiPo Cells
Para 5: Cutt-off Voltage
Para 6: BEC Voltage
Para 7: Start-up Mode
Para 8: Timing
Para 9: Motor Direction
Para 10: Freewheel
You can change all of these settings by yourself, as described in the video. For your convenience, we recommend using the LED programming card for
Xreg V5 # 099PC2.
* For F5K competition, we recommend setting Para 5 as follows to obtain the maximum motor power
Para 5: Cutt-off Voltage
WARNING !!!
This means that the controller will not stop the motor when the battery is almost empty. You will therefore
have to decide to stop flying by yourself because otherwise the motor will sip all the energy contained in
the battery pack until the energy runs out and then, not only no more motor, but much more serious, no
more radio. !!! And therefore crash guaranteed !!!
To help you make the decision: We have seen that the motor draws approximately 18A full throttle on the
ground with the recommended propeller. In the air, the consumption empirically decreases by about 10%,
or 16.2A full throttle. Our fully charged battery pack has a capacity of at least 450mAh and therefore at full
capacity, it is possible to fly:
(0.45x60) 16.2 = 1.66 = 1' 40".
We take 30% margin and therefore we advise you to limit the full throttle time to:
1'40" - 30% = 1' 10"
l 2- Install the receiver in the fuselage. Make 2 holes in the fuselage sides to bring out the antennas.
l 3- Cut a piece about 30mm wide in a 85mm transparent shrinking sleeve. Then retract it with a heat gun around the canopy to secure it.
l 4- Cut a piece of about 2-3mm wide from a tube of racing bike. Pass this "rubber band" through the front of the spinner and thread it behind the
spinner, between the spinner and the fuselage. It must pass in front of each root of the propeller blade..
l 5- Insert attachment screw 4-1 at the rear of the fuselage from below in the middle hole. Fit the horizontal tail on the fuselage, 4-1 screw goes
through the front hole, then slip in the vertical tail from above. Screw in screw 4-1. Connect the elevator and rudder cables to their respective horn.
l 6- Gather the 2 wings on the wing joiner.
l 7- Mount the wing on the fuselage having connected the aileron controls to the torsion bars. Screw the 3 wing attachment screws 2-1.
l 8- Locate the power battery pack into the fuselage to obtain the correct CG; see the chapter below CG LOCATION.
l 9- Adjust the direction and the deflection of the control surfaces; see section below CONTROLS THROWS.
