Connecting a parallel cable
Note: Use only an IEEE 1284 compliant parallel cable that is no
longer than 6 feet.
Note: There is normally no need to change the parallel port setting in your
computer's setup (BIOS) program. However, if you find that the Color MFP
does not operate well when scanning or printing, you may need to change the
setting. In this case select ECP, PS2, Bi-directional, or an equivalent parallel
port mode.
Releasing the scanner
Before plugging in the power cord of the Color MFP, push the scanner
release down to release the scanner lock.
♦ Caution: Plugging in the power cord without releasing the
scanner lock may damage the machine.
♦ If you ever need to move the Color MFP, pull the release back up to
lock the scanner before moving (pull the release up after you have
turned off the power).
Setup
Fasten the clips
onto the cable
connector.
