These instructions for use provide important information on adjusting and fitting-on the 28R14
hyperextension brace according to André Bähler.
2 Product description

2.2 Design
The product is ready for fitting when delivered, and can be adjusted to the patient by qualified
personnel.
The ventral part consists of plastic-coated aluminum and has special ratchet closures. These
accommodate the flexible waistband that is attached to the back support.
The sternal support and the symphysis support have an aluminum core that can be reshaped. The
length of the sternal support can be adjusted by maximum 20 mm over the chest bar. It can be
pushed freely along the chest bar.
3 Intended use
3.1 Indications for use
The brace is intended exclusively for orthotic fittings of the back and exclusively for contact with
intact skin.
The brace must be used in accordance with the indications.
3.2 Indications
Stable traumatic fractures of the vertebral bodies in the lower thoracic and lumbar spine, with­
out neurological deficits
Osteoporosis
The indication must be determined by the physician.
3.3 Contraindications
3.3.1 Absolute Contraindications
None known.
