Machine description
The pull-push saw Erika 85 E is designed to carry
out the different jobs in the workshop as well as on
site. It is a perfect combination of an inverted radial
arm saw, a table saw and a cross- and mitre-cut
saw. Therefore, it is an ideal machine for joiners,
carpenters, timber framers, interior decorators, con-
tractors, and parquetry work.
Used as pull-push saw cross-cuts in workpieces up
to 315 mm (12 6/16 in.) wide and up to 85 mm
(3 3/8 in.) thick can be made very precisely because
the material is firmly held in position during cutting.
Mitre cuts, too, are possible with the multi-purpose
guide fence supplied with the machine It can be
turned to each side up to 90° and and has a preset
15° detent function which can be disengaged.
The saw blade is tiltable from -3° to 48°, indicated
on a precise scale. It is, therefore, possible to make
undercuts for invisible joints.
The option of selecting the cutting speed continu-
ously between 1900 and 3800 rpm makes it possible
- in combination with the appropriate saw blade - to
obtain an optimal quality of cut in solid wood,
wooden boards, aluminium profiles and hard plastic
materials, such as PU, PE, PC etc.
For ripping the machine is easily converted to a table
saw by fixing the saw unit in the middle of the table.
In this mode the multi-purpose guide fence is used
as rip fence. The cutting width is indicated on a scale
at the front edge of the table.
For rebating and grooving the upper saw guard can
be removed quickly from the riving knife / splitter.

After pushing down the riving knife / splitter the scale
engraved in the riving knife / splitter and now per-
pendicular indicates the cutting depth for the partial
cut. Measuring is superfluous.
The push stick is readily accessible and is an impor-
tant device for safe working. A clean working area is
guaranteed by the lower and upper extraction out-
lets, which are connected to one another by the con-
nection hose supplied with the machine, thus provid-
ing one connecting pipe only to an external
extraction equipment.
The machine can easily be carried around even up
or down several floors due to the low overall height
and weight and especially the ergonomically
designed handles. After folding out the legs at the
workplace the table reaches an ergonomic height of
approx. 900 mm (35 7/16 in.).

Safety devices
Great attention was paid to the safeguarding of opti-
mum working conditions right from the early devel-
opment stage of this new machine. A wide variety of
mechanical and electrical safety devices, ergonomic
principles and measures to reduce noise and dust
emissions were employed. In accordance with the
European Standards and with regard to the required
protection devices stipulated by the use according to
intended purpose, the machine is protected against
dangers which could not be eliminated by its design.
The protection devices are in particular:
Saw blade:
The saw blade was designed according EN
847-1. Precautions were taken that the saw
blade does not come loose during starting up
