Slots must be cut in the fuselage nose to cool the motor in flight: cut the slots at the
points indicated using a sawblade, Order No. 860, then press the fuselage inward
lightly and apply a little cyano at the corners, so that the slots stay open. Drill 2.8 mm
Ø holes in the nose bulkhead spaced 16 mm apart, countersink them and install the
motor using the screws provided.
Canopy
Bend the canopy retainer to the shape shown in the drawing, using a scrap piece of
pushrod material.
Sand the inside of the canopy in the area of the double-bend. Place the wire retainer
in the canopy with the end projecting by about 5 mm, tack it in place with a drop of
cyano, then apply a fillet of UHU plus to the angled area.
Propeller
Assemble the folding propeller as shown in the drawing supplied with it, and fit it on
the motor shaft. Allow about 1 - 1.5 mm clearance to the fuselage nose, and tighten
the two M3 grubscrews to secure the propeller.
Battery and receiver
Stick the Velcro tape to the fuselage and the servo plate, and attach the mating
pieces to the battery and receiver. Connect the speed controller, the elevator servo
and the Y-lead, Order No. 3936.11 (aileron servos) to the receiver. Run the aerial
through the fuselage to the tail, and attach the receiver to the servo plate. After
balancing the model (see below), hold the flight battery in the correct position and
press it down onto the Velcro tape.
Decals
Cut out the emblems and name placards from the decal sheet, and apply them to the
model in the arrangement shown in the kit box illustration.
Assembling the PYRIT
Fix the flight battery to the bottom of the fuselage using the Velcro tape.
Balance the model correctly, and use a pencil to mark the position of the flight pack
on the mounting plate. Always check that the transmitter throttle control is at the "Off"
position before connecting the flight pack to the speed controller. If you do not wish to
connect the aileron servos using a Y-lead, we recommend that you permanently
connect 100 mm extension leads to receiver output sockets 2 and 5, so that the
aileron servos can be connected separately.
