3.2 REPLACEMENT OF OPTIONAL HALF UNIONS
Remove air nipples, for atomizing air and operating air from gun body. Replace air nipple for
atomizing air (CAP marked side) with half union for OD ø 8 mm air hose and air nipple for ope-
rating air (CYL marked side) with half union for OD ø 6 mm air hose supplied with the automa-
tic spray gun.
BE SURE TO CONNECT HALF UNIONS TO GUN BODY TIGHTLY.
NOTE: Using air hose 12 m (39.4 ft) long, the inner diameter must be a minimum 8 mm
(0.315), so the gun can have the correct air volume to atomize at 0.7 bar (10 PSI) inside
air cap.
4. HOW TO OPERATE
1. Adjust operating air pressure (CYL) from 3 to 4 bar (43 to 57 PSI).
NOTE: Valve orifice inside three-way solenoid valve should be minimum ø 4 mm (0.157 in)
and also operating air hose length should be within 10 m (32.8 ft) with the inner diameter
more than ø 6 mm (0.236 in) to avoid delayed operation and any kind of failure.
Although atomizing air pressure varies according to spray conditions, pull the piston of the
gun with the pattern adj. set fully opened and adjust as specified in above specifications

table.Only in the case of the LPA 200 that is an HVLP spray gun, it will be necessary to follow
the indication of air inlet pressure to obtain an atomization pressure within 0.7 (10 PSI) bar
inside the air cap.
3. Recommended paint viscosity differs according to paint property and painting conditions.
15 to 23 sec/Ford cup#4. is recommendable.
Set the spray distance from the automatic spray gun to the workpiece, as near as possible
within the range of: WA-101 and WA-101R: 150~200 mm (5.9~7.9 in); WA-200 Series:

200~250 mm (7.9~9.8 in). In the case of LPA-200 HVLP: 100~200 mm (3.9~7.9 in). As
the LPA-200 HVLP is an automatic gun at low pressure, if the distance between the gun and
the workpiece will be too far, the correct transfer efficiency will not be achieved.
