5.4 INSPECTION & REPLACEMENT STANDARD
WHERE TO INSPECT
Each hole passage of air cap (1)
and fluid nozzle (2-1).
Packing and O ring.
Leakage from seat section betwe-
en fluid nozzle (2-1) and fluid needle
set (2-2).

PROBLEM
GUN DOES NOT SPRAY
Fluid adj. knob (9) closed.
Tip hole of nozzle (2-1) obstructed.
Deposit of paint between the fluid needle (2-2)
and the needle packing set (11).
INTERMITTENT SPRAY PATTERN
Air escapes from fluid nozzle (2-1) and the conical
seats of the gun body.
Air escapes from fluid needle packing (11).
Air escapes from fluid hose joint.
Dirty inside air cap set (1).
DEFECTIVE SPRAY PATTERN
Dirty nozzle (2-1) or air cap set (1).
Nozzle (2-1) or air cap (1) has been damaged.
Fluid nozzle (2-1) is loose.
Paint viscosity too high or too low.
Fluid output too high or too low.
LEAKING
Fluid nozzle (2-1), needle set (2-2) or gun body,
dirty, damaged or worn on seat.
Loose fluid adj. knob (9).
Fluid needle spring set (7) is worn.
Loose fluid nozzle set (2-1).
Needle packing set (11) loose, too tight, dirty
or worn.
Piston set (6-2) dirty, damaged, worn on seat.
Piston spring (8) is worn.
Piston packing (6-1) is worn.

REPLACEMENT PART
Replace if it is crushed or deformed.
Replace if it is deformed or worn out.
Replace them if leakage does not stop after fully clea-
ning fluid nozzle (2-1) and fluid needle set (2-2).
If you replace fluid nozzle (2-1) or fluid needle set (2-2)
only, fully match them and confirm that there is no
leakage.
