5.9. AC AND DC CURRENT MEASUREMENT

Before attempting any measurement disconnect all the test leads from the
circuit under test and from the meter's input terminals.

1. Select position 60A Hz% or 400A Hz%
2. Press the MODE key in order to select the AC current measurement. The symbol "AC "
is displayed
3. In DC measurement press the Hz%ZERO key to zeroed the residual current
 In AC measurement a possible value displayed with the instrument not in
measuring mode is not to be considered a problem of the instrument
and these values are not added by the instrument while carrying out a real
measurement
 In DC measurement the zeroed of the residual current is fundamental to
obtain correct results
4. Insert the cable in the middle of the clamp jaws, in order to obtain accurate measures.
The display shows the value of AC or DC current
5. In AC mode press the Hz%ZERO key for measuring frequency (Hz) or duty cycle (%)
6. In DC mode the "-" symbol at display means that the meter is connected in the
opposite side compared with current direction (see Fig. 11). Follow the polarity
indication arrow on the instrument's side (see Fig. 1 – part 13)
7. If the symbol "O.L" is displayed, this indicates overload status. In this case, position the
rotary switch to a higher measuring range.
