TIP SWITCH
The tip switch is a normally closed device. It will open
the circuit to the gas control valve and shut the burner
off if the heater is accidentally tipped over. moved while
in operation, or operating on an inclined surface. See
Fig. 19.

The tip switch must be tested before each use.
- Place the heater to normal operating position.
- Light the heater.
- Tip the heater at least 45 degrees. The switch
should open and shut the burner off.
- If the heater continues to burn, the switch is
defective and should be replaced. DO NOT BYPASS
THE TIP SWITCH.
1. Remove the heater's base plate. See Igniter removal
procedure.
2. Disconnect the wires from the tip switch.
3. Remove the screw securing the tip switch to the
safety gas control bracket. See Fig. 20.

GAS PRESSURE CHECKS

■ This procedure is to be done once a year prior to the
heating season, anytime the heater is moved from
one job location to the next, or after servicing the
heater.

MATERIALS REQUIRED

See the list of materials required as follows, depending
on the heater to be checked. Secure these materials
through local purchase.

Low pressure gauge capable of reading up
to 35 inches water column
A. PREPARATION- ALL HEATERS
1. Close the fuel supply valve to the heater.
2. Allow heater to burn off gas remaining in it's gas
supply lin e.
3. Allow heater to cool.
B. GAUGE INSTALLATION
1. Using a small flat head screwdriver, loosen the screw
in the pressure ports. See Fig. 21.

2. Install the pressure gauge hose. See Fig. 21 for inlet
or outlet pressure port.
