6. T ake the battery leads and connect the red (+) energizer clip to the positive terminal on the
battery.
7. C onnect the black (-) energizer clip to the negative terminal on the battery.
8. L oosely coil the battery leads on top of the battery and then close the lid of the energizer.
This ensures the cables are safely inside the case and won't get damaged with closing of
the lid.
Battery selection
This section refers exclusively to rechargeable, lead-acid batteries, for example car, tractor,
truck, marine or specialist deep-cycle batteries.
Battery information
Use a deep-cycle 12 V rechargeable lead-acid battery.
• Do not dispose of the battery in a land-fill or in a fire.
• In the event of a spill or leakage from a lead-acid battery:
• Contain small spills with dry sand, soil and vermiculite. Do not
use combustible materials. If possible, carefully neutralise spilled
electrolyte with soda ash, sodium bicarbonate, lime, etc.
• Wear acid-resistant clothing, boots, gloves and a face shield.
• Do not let un-neutralised acid get into the sewerage system.
