Connection of light signals with bulbs or LEDs (2) and (3)
When using light signals with bulbs or LEDs, program the corresponding outputs
of the LS100 to continuous operation. This enables the direct connection of the
bulbs or LEDs (via a resistor) to the outputs of the LS100. The separate AC
power supply prevents strain from being put on the digital current.
Information on the programming of features is contained in the Section
"Programming output features".
Important:
When connecting LEDs, bear in mind that terminal "C" provides positive potential.
Therefore, you must connect the cathode of the LEDs in the signal to the
terminals "+" and "-".
A resistor is required to operate the LEDs. Check first whether an appropriate
resistor is already installed in the LED signal!
If this is not the case, use a multiplier of 1.5kOhm for an AC power supply of 16V.
If the LEDs do not shine brightly enough, reduce the resistor (1kOhm), if the LEDs
shine too brightly, increase the resistor. This resistor is marked "R" in the
illustration.
Connecting a motorised point drive (4)
An adapter LA010 is required for the connection of motorised point drives. This
adapter alters the polarity of the motor connections as required, and renders the
use of complex relay circuits unnecessary.
Program the outputs used for motorised point drives to pulse operation, and set
the pulse duration so that the motor remains active until the final position is
