FIG. 28
7. Guide the bottom part of the line head into
the top of the line head. Position the nose (1) at
the tab (2). Rotate the bottom part of the line
head in the direction of the arrow, until the
nose of the bottom part clicks into place behind
the tab of the upper part of the line head.
8.3 Replacing the cutting line (model 106)
FIG. 29
1. Open the line head by pushing in both tabs.
Remove the line head bottom and the line
spool from the line head top. Remove the
spool from the bottom part of the line head.
2. Cut off a maximum of 4 m from the cutting
line spool.
Near the centre of the spool (Fig. 24), kink
approx. 5 – 10 cm of the cutting line.
FIG. 30
3. Guide both ends of the cutting line from the
top through the holes provided in the spool.
Pull both ends of the cutting line up to the
kinked part through the hole.

4. Completely pull the cutting line into the
spool, and tightly wind it clockwise onto the
spool. You may also tightly hold the cutting
line and wind the spool anti-clockwise.
FIG. 32
5. When the cutting line shows a residual
length of approx. 10 – 20 cm, wedge both
ends temporarily, respectively at opposite
sides, into the slots at the bottom of the spool.
This prevents the cutting line unwinding dur-
ing the next step. Both lines must not be iden-
tical in length; excess will be trimmed auto-
matically by the contact protection shield.
Replace the spool in the bottom part of the
line head. Ensure that the grooves in the up-
per part of the line head are positioned over
the cams of the bottom part of the line head.
At the same time thread both ends of the
cutting line through the eyelets provided.
Pull the lines from the slots, where they were
temporarily wedged in.
6. Again, push the bottom part of the line
head onto the upper part of the line head,
until the tabs click into position.
