-
The RescueCut saw chain is intended for short-duration
rescue use. Longer use leads to fast wear of the rivets and
extreme stretching of the chain.
-
Pay constant attention to the correct chain tension and
retighten often.
-
Check rivet wear regularly.
-
To avoid excessive wear of the chain and guide bar, do not
cut sheet steel thicker than 1.5 mm.
-
Never use the chain saw for lifting up or removing pieces
of wood or other objects.
-
Secure round pieces against rotation.
-
For crosswise cuts set the spike bar (13, Z) against the
workpiece.
-
For crosswise cuts, set the spike bar Þ rmly against the
workpiece and then pivot the saw into the material. In doing
so, lift the saw by the rear grip and guide it by the front grip,
using the spike bar as a pivot. To reposition, press lightly
on the front grip and pull the saw back somewhat. Then set
the spike bar lower and repeat the pivot action.
-
When the timber must be pierced for cutting or longi-
tudinal cuts are to be performed it is urgently recom-
mended to have this carried out by specially trained
persons only (high risk of kickback).
-
Do longitudinal - lengthwise - cuts at the lowest possible
angle (14). Be very careful when doing this type of cut, as
the spike bar cannot grip.
-
Pull the saw out of the material only with the chain running.
-
When performing several cuts the throttle lever must be
released in between.
-
Avoid stressing the guide bar at individual points.
-
Be careful when cutting splintered wood or other material, as
sawn-off pieces can get ß ung about and injure someone.
-
Be especially careful when cutting non-wood materials.
When cutting with the top edge of the guide bar the chain
saw can be thrown towards the operator if the chain gets
caught. Therefore, cut only with the lower edge of the guide
bar as far as possible, as this will tend to pull the saw away
from the operator (15)
-
When cutting wood or any material under tension (16) al-
ways Þ rst make a starter cut on the pressure side (A). Only
then proceed with the cut on the tension side (B). This will
prevent the bar from getting caught.
-
Due to the releif-Þ le front rake and resulting low cutting
performance in soft materials, do not use this chain for
felling trees and cutting off limbs.
