You are holding a multiprotocol decoder and two digital couplings in your hands. This means that when
used in digital driving mode with the MULTIMAUS
system, including the Motorola
The couplings are opened and closed separately with F1 and F2 respectively. The decoder is especially
designed for the triggering of the couplings. The triggering of the couplings via a `normal' function outlet
GB
would destroy them.
The digital coupling cannot be remote controlled when in analogue operation. The conventional coupling
and decoupling (e.g. with a decoupling track) is still possible however. The digital coupling has to be
`closed´ however (positioning mechanism down).
Under no circumstances are digital couplings to be pulled out of the gates as they are connected
to the locomotive board by electrical means! There is a risk that the connecting cable could tear
off and thereby cause irreparable damage to the coupling.
We recommend that coupling and decoupling is only carried out with care and on straight track
sections.
Installation of the digital coupling
This digital coupling installation kit is exclusively designed for use in vehicles with a standard shaft in
accordance with NEM362.
Before commencing with the installation work, please check whether the headroom permits a swinging
out over the buffers if required when the couplings are temporarily inserted in the standard shaft, in
keeping with the narrowest curve radii and S-curve combinations!
Instructions for installation in carriages: Basically speaking, an installation is also possible in car-
riages with a standard shaft. In the case of longer carriages however, at least one pair of cables for one
of the two digital couplings is to be extended to the solder PCB! As regards carriage equipment or rows of
carriages in the train, a carriage with a digital coupling which is not equipped with a looped coupling link
can only be coupled to a carriage with a digital coupling which obviously does not have a looped coupling
link if this is equipped with a normal standard looped coupling link or a universal coupling.
For more information: the decoder cable colours „red" and „black" are to be connected to both of the
wheel contact sides when in DCC/direct current operation; in Motorola
„Red" is to be connected to the pick-up and „black" to the wheel contacts; the decoder cable colours or-
ange, grey, yellow and white remain unused in this case; an interface socket which enables the connection
of the decoder here is available as a spare part with the number 105477! It is possible that a decoupling
decoder which is installed in a carriage can be programmed there but it is possible that it cannot be read out!
