BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME

Check the following seven points before using for the first time.
1.
The appliance is horizontal and correctly mounted.
2.
The water tap is open.
3.
The inlet connections are correctly tightened and free from
leakage.
4.
The power connection is correct.
5.
The power supply is switched on.
6.
There are no clinches in the water and drain hoses.
7.
There is no packaging material, accessories or
documentation left in the appliance.
SOFTENER SALT
Filling
1.
Take out the basket and unscrew and remove the lid for the
salt container.
2.
Before using for the first time, pour 1 litre of water into the
salt container in the appliance.
3.
Place the supplied funnel over the hole and pour in about
1 kg of dishwasher salt. Some water will run out from the salt
container when filling, this is completely normal.
4.
Replace the lid and firmly tighten after filling.
5.
The status lamp for the salt level normally goes off within
2–6 days after filling the salt container.
6.
Start a wash programme (quick programme recommended)
immediately after filling with salt. Otherwise the filter
system, pump or other parts can be damaged by the salty
water. Damage of this kind is not covered by the warranty.
FIG.
5
NOTE:
Only use salt intended for dishwashers. Other types of
salt, such as table salt, will damage the water softener.
The warranty does not cover damage resulting for the
use of unsuitable salt.
The salt container must only be filled when the status
lamp for the salt level goes on. Depending on how
completely the salt is dissolved the status lamp for the salt
level can continue to stay on even if the salt container is
full. On models that do not have a status lamp on the
control panel the number of wash cycles indicates when it
is time to fill salt.
Always run a complete wash programme after filling with
salt. Otherwise grains of salt or salty water will remain in
the bottom of the appliance and cause corrosion.
Dosing
1.
Go to the position to set the salt dosing.
Close the panel. Start the appliance with the power
switch and hold within 1 minute the start/stop button
pressed for 5 seconds to activate the setting mode.
2.
Set a suitable salt dosing level.
Press the start/stop button to select the required setting
for local conditions. The positions change every time
the button is pressed as shown in the table below (H1
-> H2 -> H3 -> H4 -> H5 -> H6).
3.
After 5 seconds of inactivity the setting mode ends
automatically and the appliance goes into standby mode.

°dH = German unit for water hardness. 1 °dH corresponds to
approx. 17.8 mg calcium oxide (lime) per litre of water.
mmol/l = International unit for water hardness
(millimol per litre).
TIP See municipality's webpage or contact the local water
company for information on the hardness of the water.
DETERGENT
The chemicals in the detergent remove and disperse the
waste so that it can be transported out from the dishwasher.
Most commercially available dishwasher detergent can be used.
Modern powder detergents do not contain phosphate, which
means that they have an inferior softening function. If such
detergents are used we recommend filling the salt container with
salt, even if the hardness of the water is only 6 °dH. Detergent
without phosphate together with hard water produces white
stains on the dishes. In which case, add more detergent for
better results. Detergent without chlorine has a weak bleaching
effect. Stubborn or strongly coloured stains will not disappear
completely. In which case, use a programme with a higher
temperature.
NOTE:
The dishwashing results are affected by the hardness of
the water and how dirty the dishes are.
Follow the instructions on the detergent packaging for
dosing and storage.
For very dirty dishes, fill detergent in the prewash
compartment.
Add the detergent immediately before starting
the appliance.
Only use detergents and rinse-aids intended for
dishwashers.
