1. Remove the two screws on each side of the cover, which secure the cover to the
chassis. These two screws are optional and will not impact functionality if they are not installed.
2. Press the two release buttons and slide the cover toward the rear.
3. Lift the top cover up.
CAUTION:
Except for short periods of time, do not operate the server without the cover
in place. The chassis cover must be in place to allow for proper airflow and to prevent
overheating.

1. Hold the processor with the land grid array (LGA, gold contacts) facing down. Locate the gold
triangle at the corner of the processor and the corresponding hollowed triangle on the processor
carrier. These triangles indicate the location of pin 1.

2. Turn the processor over (with the gold LGA up). Locate the CPU keys on the processor and the four
latches on the carrier.
