Installation 2
Install in accordance with NFPA 58 and local applicable codes and
regulations as required.
Mounting the Second Sun
Install the SECOND SUN
of the tank. Avoid mounting over weld seams, as this could result in a water leak path. Ensure that the top edge
cabinet seal is sufficiently compressed to avoid any moisture from entering below.
Inspect the heater face visually for any damage or gaps in the catalyst material prior to installation. At the same
time, the tank surface, covered by the heater, should be inspected for corrosion, using the same method for
inspecting all other exposed surfaces. Clean all foreign materials from the pipelines prior to making any
connections to SECOND SUN
for leaks using a leak detection solution or device. Eliminate all leaks prior to operation. Make sure to install
the two J‐hooks as showed below. Incorrectly installed J‐hooks can bend down the top rain guard. See Figure
1.
1. Attach the provided tank heater mounting cable(s) around the tank as shown in Figure 1 and attach J‐
hooks to heater cover and tighten so that heater will support itself without slipping on the tank.
2. Level the heater at waist height to facilitate ease of access for mounting. See Figure 2.
