ENGLISH
If the pumped liquids are hot, take care to avoid the risk of
burning.
- Disconnect the motor if the cable for removing the motor is too
short.
- Remove the coupling guard.
- Partially unscrew the coupling screws.
- Remove the motor with a hoisting apparatus.
- Remove the assembly together with the coupling device, the
shaft, the mechanical seal and the pump casing's impeller.
- Remove the impeller from the pump's shaft.
- Remove the mechanical seal from the shaft.
- Take the coupling and the pump shaft out of the housing.
- Carefully clean the shaft's bearing surfaces. If the shaft is
damaged, it should be replaced.
- Replace the mechanical seal's stationary seal ring together with its
seal and the O-ring located in the housing. Washing up liquid may
be used as a lubricant.
- Check the coupling's bearing surfaces, and, if necessary, clean
them and lightly oil them.
- Pre-assemble the two half-couplings on the pump shaft, inserting
the spacing ring, and carefully inserting the assembly consisting of
the pump's shaft and the coupling into the housing.
- Reassemble the rotating seal ring on the shaft. Washing up liquid
may be used as a lubricant.
- Attach the impeller with a washer and nut, then lock it along the
impeller's outside diameter. Make the assembly secure to avoid
damaging the mechanical seal.
Play close attention to the screws' loading torques
CAUTION !
(Refer to 7.3).
- Place the pre-assembled housing inside the pump casing and
screw it in place. Take care not to damage the mechanical seal
by holding the mobile assembly in place via the coupling.
Play close attention to the screws' loading torques
CAUTION !
(Refer to 7.3).
- Partially unscrew the coupling's screws and open the coupling
slightly.
- Mount the motor with an appropriate hoisting apparatus and
screw on the housing-motor joint.
Play close attention to the screws' loading torques
CAUTION !
(Refer to 7.3).
- Insert the spacing fork between the coupling and the housing (See
FIG. 7). The fork should be mounted so that there is no gap
between the housing and the coupling.
- Loosely screw on the coupling until there is contact between the
two half shells and the spacing ring inside.
- Next, evenly tighten the coupling screws. The distance between
the housing and the coupling will be automatically set at 5 mm
through the spacing fork.
Play close attention to the screws' loading torques
CAUTION !
(Refer to 7.3).
- Remove the spacing fork.
- Reassemble the coupling guards.
- Reconnect the cable supplying power to the motor's terminals.
7.2 Motor
The motor's bearings do not require servicing. An increase in the
noise made by the bearings or unusual vibrations are signs of wear.
If such signs are observed, the motor bearings must be replaced.
Motor replacement (See FIG. 6)
- Turn the installation off and take measures to prevent it from being
accidentally turned on again.
- Close the pumps' inlet and outlet valves.
- Lower the pumps' pressure using the bleed screw.
If the pumped liquids are hot, take care to avoid the risk of
burns.
- Remove the motor's connecting cables.
- Remove the coupling guards.
- Remove the coupling screws.
- Remove the motor with a hoisting apparatus.
- Mount the new motor with the appropriate hoisting apparatus and
screw in the connection between the motor's flange and the
housing.
Play close attention to the screws' loading torques
CAUTION !
(Refer to 7.3).
- Check the coupling and shaft's contact surfaces. Clean them and
oil them lightly if necessary.
- Pre-assemble the 2 half couplings on the shaft, inserting the
spacing ring.
- Slide the spacing fork between the housing and the coupling (See
FIG. 6). The spacing fork should not be loose.
- Evenly screw the coupling device onto the cross slots. The distance
between the coupling device and the housing is automatically set
at 5mm above the open end wrench.
Play close attention to the screws' loading torques
CAUTION !
(Refer to 7.3).
- Remove the spacing fork.
- Reassemble the coupling guards.
- Reconnect the cables supplying power to the motor's terminals.
