To obtain an espresso at exactly the right temperature, we recommend that you preheat your cups.
To prolong the service life of your appliance, we recommend that you always use a Claris Aqua Filter
System cartridge (reference: F088) and that you descale the appliance at regular intervals.
IMPORTANT!
Before using for the first use, after a prolonged period of inactivity or after descaling,
the appliance must be cleaned as described in paragraph 1: "BEFORE FIRST USE".

1. BEFORE FIRST USE

Before using your espresso machine, clean all the accessories in soapy water and dry them.
A. SETTING THE TIME (to be done on first use and after a power cut)
Your XP2280 combo machine has a display making it easy to use and providing a wide range of
settings.
You must set the clock when you plug in your appliance for the first time or after a power cut.
You can set the clock to 24 hour or AM-PM display mode.
To do this, simultaneously press the "H" and "m" buttons below the display.
Then set the hours by pressing the "H" button and the minutes by pressing the "m" button.
Make sure the steam knob on the left of the appliance is in 0 position.
If you are not using the Claris cartridge, go directly to paragraph "C. RINSING YOUR
APPLIANCE".
B. INSTALLING THE CLARIS CARTRIDGE (to be done every time the cartridge is replaced)
Screw the Claris cartridge into the bottom of the tank.
Fill the tank with water (Fig. 2).
Replace the tank by positioning it firmly to ensure that water can enter and then close the lid (Fig. 3).
