Ranger Quadra A & S Flashheads
The system offers two Ranger Quadra Heads with LED Pilotlight:
• The S Head is designed for universal photography equipped with a standard omega
plug-in flashtube.
• The A Head offers a very short flash duration for action freezing photography. The new A tube is a
single twin pole plug-in flash tube also with even light distribution.
• The super efficient LED Pilotlight 20 W (equals ca. 40 W Halogen) functions only when used with
the Ranger Quadra Battery Power Pack.
• Switch on the LED-Pilotlight by pressing the touch once. The LED lights for 15 s (standard), or
longer depending which user setting is programmed. By pressing the touch again, the LED
switches off.
• The new RQ Reflector range with bayonet fits only to Ranger Quadra S & A Heads.
• Elinchrom accessories with the 12 cm standard bayonet require the new RQ EL-Adapter 26339.
Ranger Quadra A- & S-Head Characteristics
• Compact portable Flashhead for Outdoor and Studio photography.
• Up to 400 ws maximum flash power, for the Ranger Quadra AS Battery Power Pack.
• Two Head versions with a standard S flash tube and a speed A version for "Action-Freezing"
imaging.
• Small and lightweight Flashhead with plug-in flash tube and LED / Daylight Pilotlight.
• Efficient power saving 20 W LED (equals ca. 40 W Halogen).
• Easy to use, new reflector mechanism with security locking.
• Two new optimised reflectors with 55° and 70° for RQ S & A Heads.
• Optional Reflector Adapter to use the wide range of EL-Reflectors.
• Detachable high quality flash cable for optimal power and flexibility in 1.5 m, 2.5 m standard, 3.5 m.
• Integrated umbrella fitting for EL-Umbrellas up to 105 cm.
Fitting Reflectors
1. Always switch off the unit before connecting accessories and reflectors.
2. Disconnect the flash cable from the RQ Power Pack.
3. Mount the RQ Head to a tripod and lock the security screw.
4. Place the Reflector over the RQ Head, with the Umbrella hole showing down.
5. Press the RQ Head locking knob firmly down and turn the reflector to the right until you hear the
snap-in noise.

7. Check if the Reflector is well fitted.
8. Reconnect the flash cable to the Power Pack and switch the unit on.
Exchanging Reflectors
1. Switch the RQ Power Pack OFF and disconnect the flash cable.
2. Mount the RQ Head to a tripod and lock with the security screw.
3. Press the RQ Head locking knob firmly down and turn the reflector to the left.
4. Now pull the Reflector from the Head.
