5 Operating the Instrument
The SevenExcellence™ display is equipped with a protective foil. Removing this foil increases the sensitivity of
the touch screen.
SevenExcellence is delivered with default parameters for calibration and measurement as well as for methods
to ensure an immediate deployment of the instrument after installation.
This quick guide leads you through the first steps of using SevenExcellence.
For a detailed guidance in using the extensive features of SevenExcellence the user is referred to the operating
instructions.
5.1 Direct calibration
1 Select a suitable sensor for the calibration and connect it to the module (ISM sensors are detected automat-
ically, tap [Home] and go on with step 4).
2 Tap [Sensors], tap [New], enter Parameters. If an external temperature probe is used, repeat this step and
enter the parameters of the probe.
3 Tap [Save], tap [Home].
4 Tap the colored tag of the module you use for calibration, Module settings is displayed.
5 Tap the list field Sensor name and select the sensor you use, if necessary select the external temperature
probe.
6 Adjust the General settings and Calibration settings if necessary.
7 Immerse the electrode/sensor in the sample, tap [Calibrate].
5.2 Direct measurement
1 Select a suitable sensor for the measurement and connect it to the module (ISM sensors are detected
automatically, tap [Home] and go on with step 4).
2 Tap [Sensors], tap [New], enter Parameters. If an external temperature probe is used, repeat this step and
enter the parameters of the probe.
3 Tap [Save], tap [Home].
4 Tap the colored tag of the module you use for measurement, Module settings is displayed.
5 Tap the list field Sensor name and select the sensor you use, if necessary select the external temperature
probe.
6 Adjust General settings and Measurement settings if necessary.
7 Tap [Save].
8 Immerse the electrode/sensor in the sample, tap [Read].
5.3 Starting a method
1 Select a suitable sensor for the method and connect it to the module (ISM sensors are detected automat-
ically, tap [Home] and go on with step 4).
2 Tap [Sensors], tap [New] enter Parameters. If an external temperature probe is used, repeat this step and
enter the parameters of the probe.
3 Tap [Save], tap [Home].
4 Tap [Methods], select a method or tap [New] to use a Method type template. Use the default parameters
or modify them according to your requirements.
5 Tap [Save].
6 Immerse the electrode/sensor in the sample, tap [Start].
