VI. MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
Before any intervention on product, ensure that switch is off and tool's plug is
disconnected from its power supply.
Reminder: Make sure to maintain the machine in good working condition, carry out regular maintenance of the
machine after each use and before storage .Any breach or default of adequate maintenance reduces the life of the
machine and increases the risk of breakdowns and accidents.
To preserve the security system throughout the life of the machine, it is important to perform maintenance and proper
cleaning, DO NOT use non-compliant replacement parts and do NOT dismantle yourself the machine or change the
security features.
6.1- Maintenance
- Always wear gardening gloves when handling or working near the sharp blades.
- Check your machine regularly before starting any work. Check the machine carefully and replace
worn or damaged parts for safety.
- Keep all nuts, bolts and screws tight to be sure that the machine is in safe working condition.
- Damaged cutter blades have to be repaired or exchanged by a qualified person before working
with the machine.
- Do not attempt to repair the machine yourself, to avoid any danger.
- Only use original accessories and spare parts.
6.2- Transport
WARNING!
Never transport the articulated hedge trimmer or set it down with the engine running.
Make sure the blades' cover is in place when transporting and storing the articulated hedge trimmer.
When carrying the hedge trimmer, the blade must be in the transport position (folded alongside
main tube, see Fig.9)
6.3- Cleaning
a) Clean the plastic parts with a soft and clean cloth and dry the housing carefully.
Do not use aggressive cleansing agents (solvents, abrasive cleansers) or an abrasive sponge or any
sharp objects.
- Do not use any caustic chemicals to clean the plastics parts.
- Never put or immerse the product in water or any liquid, and ensure that water does not penetrate
the tool.
Never splash with water or clean with high pressure hose!
b) After each cutting operation, clean the cutting blade with a soft brush and cloth with lubricating
oil and spray a thin layer of protective oil on the whole blade.
c) Always keep the ventilation slots in motor housing clean. Clean ventilation holes with soft brush.
6.4- Storage
- Keep product, user manual and accessories in the original packaging.
- Clean tool before storage.
- Always lubricate the cutter blade with protective oil spray before storage.
- Store the machine with the supplied cutter blade protection cover (1).
- It is recommended to store the product in a clean, dry location, protected from humidity, frost and
dust, and keep it out of children's reach (e.g. high or in a locked up place).
- Do not store product in temperatures lower than 0ºC (32ºF)
- Do not place or store any object on top of the product.
6.5- Disposal
- Cutting remnants: do not throw with household rubbish or in the environment. Dispose of cutting
