1.
Run tool briefly to mix and warm the oil.
2.
Place a receptacle below the opening to catch the
waste oil.
3.
Remove the oil gauge assembly to
drain the oil (Fig. 2).
4. Tip the tool enough to empty the oil
out of the housing.
5.
Pour oil in until it is at the sight
glass's half way point (approx.
1.7 pints or 0.8 litres).
6.
Insert the oil gauge assembly and
tighten.
7.
Dispose of the waste oil in
accordance with local by-laws.
STORAGE
When not in use for an extended period, apply a thin coat of
lubricant to the steel parts to avoid rust. Remove the lubricant
before using the tool again.
Secure the tool so it is stored in a vertical position on a frame
or strapped to a solid structure so it can't shift or fall over.
LONG-TERM STORAGE
In case of long period storage for more than 30 days:
1.
Remove foreign objects such as loose stones and dirt from
the tamping rammer and engine.
2.
Drain all the fuel from the fuel tank (see engine instruction
manual for procedure).
3.
Clean the engine cylinder cooling fins.
4. Clean or replace the air filter.
5.
Change engine oil.
6.
Follow procedures described in the engine instruction
manual for engine storage.
7.
Store the tamping rammer in a clean, dry area. Cover it
with dry cloth for storage.
