4.4 Basic features
Here you can find information on the basic operating fea-
tures of your oven.
This Use and Care Guide covers several models. Your
model may have some but not all of the touch keys listed.
Touch key Function
ON I OFF Main switch. Turns the oven on or off.
LIGHT While the oven door is closed, press this
key to turn the oven light on and off. When
the oven door is opened, the oven light will
automatically turn on.
During self clean the oven light cannot be
turned on.
START I Starts or pauses the operation.
STOP
TIMERS Enters the kitchen timer or oven timer
function.
MENU Enters the menu for operating modes and
settings.
INFO Displays additional information on current
modes.
ADD STEAM Turns on steam assisted cooking.
FAST PRE- Activates or deactivates the fast preheat
HEAT function.
The display shows
Select upper oven cavity to change set-
tings.
Select lower oven cavity to change set-
tings.
Confirm settings on the full touch display
Return to prior screen on the full touch dis-
play
INFO touch key
If the INFO touch key lights up, important information re-
garding the mode you are using is available, for example
recommendations on suitable cookware or how to prepare
food for a safe cooking result.

Familiarizing yourself with your appliance en-us
Touch keys are touch sensitive areas. You only have to
press on the keys lightly to operate them. The touch keys
will not work if you press several of them at once, such as
when cleaning them.
How to use this feature:
When you press INFO, the information is displayed for

a few seconds.
To exit the information mode immediately, press INFO

or touch the display.
Sounds
The appliance uses various sound signals during opera-
tion.
Sounds may indicate the following:
A touch key or touch field has been pressed.

An operation has started or finished.

You can adjust the volume of the sounds in the basic set-
tings → Page 24 .

Allows the steam oven to continue running
properly.
Settings
Adjusting the basic settings of your appli-
ance.
Remote start
This symbol appears when the Home Con-
nect™ setup is complete.
How it works and what it is used for
For baking and cooking small food items on one or more
racks.
Use for large baked items and breads on 1 or 2 racks. Also
suitable for side dishes and casseroles.
Cooks with dry, heated air.
Use for traditional baking and roasting on one level.
