c) Switching the product off
Do not leave the product to cool down unattended. There is a risk of fire.
• After use, place the woodburning pen on the safety support.
• Disconnect the mains plug from the wall socket.
• Let the product cool down completely before you put it in storage.
General notes
Do not apply the woodburning pen on materials with a lacquered surface.
Ensure the workpiece is clean, flat and free from grease.
Always work in well-ventilated areas, as the fumes can irritate or even damage eyes and/or
the respiratory system.
• When decorating, try to apply even pressure and speed of movement to achieve uniformly dark lines.
• Be careful not to destroy the workpiece when working on sensitive materials such as thin leather.
• With every new material, first practise on a sample piece.
• The longer a burning stamp is applied, the darker the motif becomes.
• For soldering works, a solder and flux are required. Many solders already contain flux. For cleaning the
soldering tip, a wet soldering sponge is also required. Accessories for soldering work are not included in
delivery.
Pyrography
• Select one of the burning tips as a tool.
• Clean the workpiece, if required. Use fine sandpaper to sand down the surface.
• The motif can be sketched out with pencil or carbon paper on the material.
• You can also print out motifs on special ironing paper and apply onto the material.
• Turn the product on.
• Only hold the product on the handle, do not touch the metal part.
• Hold the product as you would a fountain pen.
• Guide the burning tip across the workpiece, applying light pressure.
• Decorate wood, cork or leather, for example.
Burning stamps
• Select one of the burning stamps as a tool.
• Turn the product on.
• Hold the product by the handle, perpendicular to the workpiece.
• Put the stamp on the workpiece, applying light pressure.
• Decorate wood, cork, leather or sealing wax, for example.
Heat cutter
• Select the blade and the blade holder as tools.
• Insert the blade into one of the slots on the blade holder.
• Screw the blade holder onto the product.
• Turn the product on.
• Only hold the product on the handle, do not touch the metal part.
• Cut polystyrene, for example, with the heat cutter.
Soldering iron
• Screw the soldering tip onto the product.
• Turn the product on.
• Clean the soldering joints of grease, dirt, as well as from oxides and sulphides.
• Only hold the product on the handle, do not touch the metal part.
• Using the soldering tip, lightly apply solder onto the solder joints and solder them together.
• If required, apply flux.
• Ensure the soldering tip only touches the soldering joints.
• Clean the soldering tip with the soldering sponge.

Maintenance and cleaning

• The woodburning pen requires no servicing aside from occasional cleaning.
• Disconnect the mains plug from the wall socket.
• Let the woodburning pen cool down to room temperature before cleaning.
• Use a soft, anti-static and lint-free cloth for cleaning.
• Do not use any chemical or abrasive cleaning agents.
• For cleaning the tools, screw them onto the product and start up the product.
• Clean the hot tool using a damp, inflammable sponge.
• Do not clean the tools with metal brushes or sandpaper.
Disposal
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in the household waste.
