OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Intended use
This product is designed for permanent creative carving of different materials. With the product, pictures and
letters can be burnt in on wood, leather or cork. For this, a variety of burning tips and stamps are available.
The product can also be used as a soldering iron for small soldering jobs, and as a hot knife for polystyrene,
for example.
It is intended for indoor use only. Do not use it outdoors. Contact with moisture, e.g. in bathrooms, must be
avoided under all circumstances.
For safety and approval purposes (CE), you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. If you use the
product for purposes other than those described above, the product may be damaged. In addition, improper
use can cause hazards such as short circuiting, fire, electric shock etc. Read the instructions carefully and
keep them. Make this product available to third parties only together with its operating instructions.

Safety instructions
Read the operating instructions carefully and especially observe the safety information.
If you do not follow the safety instructions and information on proper handling in this
manual, we assume no liability for any resulting personal injury or damage to property.
Such cases will invalidate the warranty/guarantee.
a) Persons / Product
• Do not use the product on persons or animals.
• The product is only suitable for private use at home.
• The mains outlet must be located near to the device and be easily accessible.
• Never pull the mains plug from the socket by pulling at the cable. Always pull it from the mains
socket using the intended grips.
• Unplug the mains plug from the mains socket if you do not use the device for an extended
period of time.
• Disconnect the mains plug from the mains socket in thunderstorms for reasons of safety.
• Make sure that the mains cable is not squeezed, bent, damaged by sharp edges or put under
mechanical stress. Avoid excessive thermal stress on the mains cable from extreme heat or
cold. Do not modify the mains cable. Otherwise the mains cable may be damaged. A damaged
mains cable can cause a deadly electric shock.
• Do not touch the mains cable if it is damaged. First, power down the respective mains socket
(e.g. via the respective circuit breaker) and then carefully pull the mains plug from the mains
socket. Never use the product if the mains cable is damaged.
• A damaged mains cable may only be replaced by the manufacturer, a workshop commissioned
by the manufacturer or a similarly qualified person, so as to prevent any danger.
• Never plug in or unplug the mains plug when your hands are wet.
• The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• The only permissible voltage source is a standard mains socket (230 V / 50 Hz) of the public
supply network.
• Do not submerge the device in water. Risk of electric shock!
• Never pour any liquids onto electric devices and do not place any liquid-filled objects next to the
device. Should liquid nonetheless penetrate the device, cut off the power supply to the relevant
mains socket (e.g. via the circuit breaker) and pull the mains plug out of the mains socket. After
that, the product must no longer be used; take it to a specialist workshop.
• Before connecting to the mains, check whether the connection values on the product's type
label correspond to those of your home's power supply.
• This device is not intended to be used by persons (including children) with limited physical,
sensory or mental capabilities, or with a lack of sufficient experience and/or knowledge, unless
they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or were instructed on how the
device is to be used.
• Children have to be supervised so they do not play with the device.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. These may become dangerous
playing material for children.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, high humidity,
moisture, flammable gases, vapours and solvents.
• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.

• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and protect it from
any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
• Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height can damage
the product.
• The front end of the product will become very hot during operation which may cause serious
burns. Hold the product only on the handle.
• With the melting of materials, toxic vapours may arise. Observe a sufficient distance.
• Keep a sufficient distance from flammable materials such as paper, curtains etc.
• Ensure proper room ventilation while using the product.
• Sharp and pointed objects and tools can cause injuries!
• Do not leave the product unattended while it is supplied with power.
b) Miscellaneous
• Consult an expert when in doubt about operation, safety or connection of the device.
• Maintenance, modifications and repairs are to be performed exclusively by an expert or at a
qualified shop.
• If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions, contact our

Operation
Use a flat, fire-proof surface.
Ensure the product cannot fall down. There is a risk of injury and fire.
a) Switching the product on
• Make sure the mains plug is not plugged in.
• Let the woodburning pen cool down first, if required.
• Put the product down on the safety support (see "Accessories").
• Insert the mains plug into a suitable mains socket.
• Let the woodburning pen heat up for approx. three minutes.
Always put the product down on the support included in delivery when hot and not in use.
b) Changing tools
A tool change with hot components can destroy the tool and cause serious burns. Always first
leave to cool completely.
• Select the required tool and screw it clockwise onto the woodburning pen. To do this, use a suitable tool
such as pliers. Make sure the tool sits on securely and cannot come loose. Do not screw the tool on using
excessive force.
• Always disconnect the product from the mains voltage and let it cool before unscrewing the tool
counterclockwise.
